Good Lord, Show Me The Way
For most, Efland, North Carolina doesn’t exist. A census-designated place off a non-descript exit on I40, there is no town square and no multiplexes or chain restaurants.
Efland is a place where everyone knows your name and people greet strangers with a hug. Addresses are given not by coordinates, but in turn-by-turn references to vague town landmarks- past the old cemetery, half a mile from Bill’s house, two doors down from the Grady farm. Those who live there are proud of their home and their hospitality, providing a graciousness and kindness that is rare to find in today’s busy world.
The church is the pillar of the community and faith guides their lives.
