Clean Hands for Haiti
Clean Hands for Haiti is a non-profit dedicated to supporting Haitian children by funding educational scholarships, helping them find access to healthcare, and providing them with a safe space to learn. I have been deeply involved with the organization since 2014, and have traveled to Haiti every year since to document their programs and mission through photo and video.
We redesigned and launched their website in January 2019 to reflect their new programs and expanded mission. I developed a custom WordPress theme for Clean Hands based off the blank starter theme, Underscores. I chose WordPress because it would let the rest of the team make content changes without much technical expertise. As the team is small and primarily volunteer-run, I was the sole designer and developer on this project, working with the other team members to make sure the content and design stayed true to the organization. I wanted the website to reflect their positivity and hope, choosing to focus on our sponsored students, team, and volunteers using bright, bold colors and large imagery.
